B.U.G.s -Bicycle User Groups
Another of the Partners of BHAT is J.P.Morgan Chase, one of the largest employers in the BH postcode, and a very keen advocate of Active Travel. Send us your pictures and comments of how YOU are leading the way like the other employers in BH Area.
Bicycle User Group real life example:
“The Bicycle User Group (BUG) is the name used for our Cycle Commuter community at J.P. Morgan, Chaseside.
BUG is managed by a BUG Committee which is a small group of employees that in addition to their day job promote and support cycling on campus. This includes: engagement with internal teams such as Facilities and the Transportation Facilitator as well as organising a range of onsite cycling activities such as talks and workshops and regular communication with the over 900 members of BUG.
At any one time we estimate that approximately 40% of the BUG membership cycle to work, something that the firm actively supports through the provision of extensive cycle storage, track pumps, lockers, changing and shower facilities.”
Great Leadership there from an employer, sure is a nice time of year to ride to work.

As we approach the time in which BCP makes some changes to the streets that are initiated by COVID era social distancing,. here is a couple of examples of what has been done elsewhere. This sort of change only happens when Councils are in dialogue with the resident of the town. We urge the Councillors of BCP to approve the work of the engineers, there are as we know 15 schemes outlined for implementation- for these to fall down, when the funds have been given to Councils for explicitly this reason- would be a travesty. More pictures than words today. Actions speak louder.
Done properly, widened cycleway, wands (light segregation)
Footway widening, bi directional cycleway
